Therapeutic Massage

Massage Therapy is often offered at two levels: a simple relaxation massage, or a therapeutically oriented massage. The training required for relaxation is minimal. A person trained in therapeutic massage may need hundreds of hours of training, 500 seems to be common but many programs offer much more. As more and more states require certification for massage, simple relaxation massage may become a thing of the past.

But it is simple to learn and to give to friends and family. I have taught an eight week class in relaxation massage for more than 20 years and have published a course based on those classes. The class is for couples, partners, or friends. The cost is for two people, and is on a sliding scale of $160-220, including the manual and videa.

The next class will be offered Tuesday nights beginning February 8.
